I went to the park, it was full of deer.

Warning- Jenny Joseph

When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple

With a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me

And I shall spend my pension on brandy...

And summer gloves

And satin sandles

And say we've no money for butter

I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired, and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells. And run with my stick along public railings, and make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain and pick flowers in other peoples gardens and learn to spit!

I would like to live in a John Hughes movie.
Watched a documentary on the dissection of a whale today it was gruesome but i feel i learnt a lot about intestines and whale song. Nay you will never have my anecdote about touching Neil Morriseys jacket however A-list Chievley Costa becometh. I must admit i am slightly envious of your encounter with Howard.
Jona did you not say you had updated your blog by a substantial amount of words? I see no evidence of this... I would like to see some blog updates. Onto the news and weather the heatwave is over and Roddick lost the tennis. Michael jckson (RIP) is still dead. I think the swine is back- Monday 06/06/09. Just to keep track for historys sake. If this is found many years from now this could be used in history lessons and i will be to the noughties what Anne Frank was to the twientieths.
Well boiye.
PS.next time i will make this blog more professional.
PPS. As Joe said what he wanted in his blog, i would very much like some banoffee pie right now.
(If this is being read years from now, hello children of the future... i wonder if you can you fly yet)

Prawn farming

So Naomi Hussain I told you prawns were ruining the environment, but didn't know why. Well I found out, here is a blog about it:
Prawns were once considered a luxury food item much like lobster, they were sought after and much harder to come by. Nowadays on walking into a local supermarket you'll find a variety of the produce cheap as chips. To feed our desire for a cheap source of a yummy product, industrialised shrimp farming has become highly destructive to the environment as thousands of hectares of mangrove forests are being destroyed to set up shrimp farms.
Mangroves are among the most productive ecosystems on the planet and support a great variety of marine life. However, mangroves are being cleared to make way for prawn farms. 40% of world mangrove loss has been attributed to shrimp farming. When mangroves are destroyed, farmers find their catches of other fish collapse. As so many pesticides are poured into the mangroves before the prawn larvae are grown.
In Ecuador 80% of the population have lost their main source of food because of the destruction of mangroves to create higher yields. Whats more as the farms pump waste water into canals, 74% of fishermen in Sri Lanka no longer have access to drinking water. In Vietnam shrimp farming is polluting the soils, trees and water so greatly it will be their last form of agriculture.
Furthermore prawns are carnivorous, and the feed required to raise them (which is made of various fish oils) is double the weight of the prawn produced which in itself is depleting wild stocks of fish.
This being said not all prawns are farmed in this way...
When buying prawns it is best to choose cold water ones from the Arctic Ocean and the cold parts of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Canada.
Avoid prawns farmed from Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Vietnam (These will be the cheaper ones). Shockingly unfarmed prawns are no better the vast majority are trawled, a process that kills an estimated 150,000 turtles annually.

I've finished! Actually finished university. So now i am not a student i'm simply unemployed:(
Degree show on Friday, and summer ball. Last one ever:(
Stayed up all night Sunday, sewing. The past weeks have been...
drinking cups of tea, 11pm snickers breaks, hand embroidery to the hills, machine embroidery to Regina Spektor, not playing out...not playing at all, attempting to draw, getting covered in charcoal, drinking cola, drinking red bull, pro plus, panicing, pocrastinating on facebook, watching birds out of the window, talking to jasper, talking to myself, appologising to ladders, not making sense, not sleeping, eating crap, painting crap, glueguning, being scared there are people in the house, making thread trails, trying to use filler, boiling eggs, buying rings, buying bangles, buying too much, thai food, trying to get business cards, getting stressed over business cards, snapping at people, wearing hats, dressing like a boy, hoovering, crying for no reason, laughing for no reason, worrying about silly things, dialing the wrong numbers, sunning, gossiping, welsh cakes.

Anna Karina is such a beaut...
My Dad was reading a book whist impersonating jean Paul Belmondo on Saturday.
When I went to France a million years ago. I thought the only known Frenches were Belmondo and Francois hardy. I insisted it was the case. But now i think about it, are either of them even alive anymore? I also thought the name Simon with a french accent was Seymour. Clare corrected me on this.
My sewing machine keeps jamming.

Hi blogspot. I don't really have anything to blog about but I thought I would talk to you anyway. How are you? I am well, today i made a Thai green curry, did some sewing, and fell in LOVE with Morrison's supermarket, I can see what Richard Hammond sees in it. Anyway I thought I would take this time to ask you some Q's which have been troubling me.
Are Cheerios doughnut seeds?
Why in the Muller corner advert do they say 'I've got my cherries' twice?! Really have they run out of fruits? It is the poorest jingle i have heard in all of my days.
If swimming is such good exercise then why are Whales fat?
Also where is Copenhagen? I realise i could look this one up, but can't be bothered, i really want to go there though because it sounds like coconut. And I really enjoy coconuts and how they smell. They are probably my bestest smell along with creosote. But I think that might be a carcinogenic?
But my main Q's for you is this, it has been empirically verified that Ewan Mcgregor is in fact the best actor in the world, so why does he not get credit for Angels and demons? Why is it only Tom hanks name in the trailer? why does he only get a two minute slot on Jonathan Ross, when Eminem gets at least twenty? This I am sure you'll agree is Utterly ludicrous and I am NOT talking about the rapper.
I bought a red cabbage at Morrison's today because it was thirty eight pence. I don't know what to do with it. What even is a red cabbage? I am not entirely sure.

Rosie and I went to see bat for lashes last week, so beautiful. She came out in this all in one jumpsuit with glittery ruff and eye make up, and sounded amazing. I really want the hoodie she wears in the video for Daniel but am so broke, will have to save for a while first :[
Work
Its about a month until the BIG textiles deadline. I've been concentrating on storytelling and am looking at Greek mythology. I've already illustrated Midas, Medusa and Icarus and made Icarus' wings. I've decided to also embroider Persephone and the pomegranate and Pandora's box. I really want to make the piece more 3D than my other work by incorporating the wax and the wings. I want the wall hanging to be held together by a branch to form the underworld on my MASSIVE 3 metre canvas. So went out with my Dad and found an old tree branch to recycle into my stitch. I'm also working on bunting to illustrate storytelling through time for my creative project.
