So long time no blog.
I actually did some sewing for the first time in forever last week. Only altering my sisters dress a little but its a start. here is a picture of her looking lovely in the said dress.


I'm currently listening to the beach boys heroes and villains, what a song for summer, i'm hoping if I play it loud enough the sun may respond?!

An Ode to the 60's

My love for the 1960's has recently been reignited by Tom Ford's stunning debut 'A Single Man'. So perfect I want to eat it. The sets, the costumes, the music, even the gin... Well, especially the gin.
I think set decorator Amy Wells deserves high praise ( also responsible for the heavenly look of Mad Men and my all time favourite, Clueless).

When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple

And I shall spend my pension on brandy...



And summer gloves



And satin sandles



And say we've no money for butter



I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired, and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells. And run with my stick along public railings, and make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain and pick flowers in other peoples gardens and learn to spit!
